On Monday the Senate debated healthcare. Well, some members of the Senate debated. Others…slept.

Sens. Steve Bair, R-Blackfoot, and Jeff Siddoway, R-Terreton, were seen flopped back in their seats sleeping during a Senate debate on health care. They are literally sleeping, fully reclined, eyes closed, while the Senate debates health care scraps for the nearly 80,000 Idahoans who have nothing. Luckily for vulnerable Idahoans, SB1142 died in a 13-22 vote. Although the bill was killed the uninsured are still in dire need of access to healthcare.

Idaho’s GOP needs a serious wake-up call. Apparently they can’t be bothered with the fate of Idahoans who currently lack health care coverage.

They snooze, we lose.
