The State Legislature has a lot of power. Much of that power is wielded by a leadership team. Where do those leadership members come from? These maps shed some light.

The Idaho Legislature consists of 35 Senators and 70 Representatives divided equally among Idaho’s population. Yet the leadership is not divided equally.

Between leadership positions and committee chairs, we created maps that show which Idaho counties wield the most legislative power.

For a party that has loves its cowboys and country music, much of the GOP’s legislative leadership comes from relatively urban/suburban counties.
