After a bad night for many of us, the sun still rises. And in light of this new day, we see can see some important things:

The work we do as individuals fighting for progressive values in Idaho is more important now than ever. They want us demoralized and divided. Instead of playing into these traps, let’s organize with clear eyes and full hearts.

Now more than ever we need a political movement that includes as many of us as possible because we are stronger together. Especially within the progressive movement, we must support and move forward together, focused on common goals.

We must stand strong against racism, sexism, homophobia, and Islamophobia. Let’s fiercely protect our brothers and sisters who are immigrants, Muslim, LGBTQ, people of color, people with disabilities, and those without healthcare.

We cannot allow Trump’s victory to validate a divisive and hateful approach to our differences.

We need to be smart, committed and creative. Let’s remember that it is not about Trump. It is about a political and economic system that puts profit over people, over every living thing, over the planet.

All across our state, win or lose, candidates and political parties are closing down campaign offices. They’re boxing up supplies and turning off the lights. Not us, we are going to get organized and prepared.
We will mobilize people around issues impacting Idahoans and we will organize now for victories of the future.
